UK Youth Development League

  • Track and Field. Agegroups: U13, U15, U17, U20
  • In January 2013 the existing National Junior Athletic League and the National Young Athletics League amalgamated to form the UK Youth Development League for all athletes under 20 years of age.

Wessex Young Athletes League

Age group Events Admin
  • Under 11
  • Sch year 4+5
  • QUAD KIDS
  • NFJAC enters a team of 10 boys and 10 girls on each Sunday.
  • Each child must do all 4 activities on the day.
  • Activities:
    • Throw: Vortex
    • Sprint:75m
    • Run: 600m
    • Jump: Long Jump
  • Points awarded for each event to each child. (Points matrix)
  • Prepare for a full day at the track 10am – 4ish.
  • Exact timings confirmed the week before.
  • Parents must stay on site (or child with another responsible family)
  • Children in teams of 10 with NFJAC Team Manager
  • NFJAC T shirt / Black Shorts/ Trainers or track spikes
  • Picnic/deck chairs/sun cream/ usually the tracks don’t allow dogs
  • Under 13
  • Sch year 6+7
  • Athletes are allowed to take part in 3 events + 4 x 100m Relay.
  • Choose 3 from:
    • Throw: Discus; Shot; Javelin
    • Sprint:70mHurdles for girls; 75mH for boys; 100m; 200m
    • Run: 800m; 1200m for girls; 1500m for boys
    • Jump: Long Jump; High Jump
  • Aim to arrive 1 hour before your first event. You are free to leave after your last event.
  • Parents must stay on site (or child with another responsible family)
  • NFJAC vest / Black Shorts/ Trainers or track spikes
  • Picnic/deck chairs/sun cream/ usually the tracks don’t allow dogs
  • Under 13 are encouraged to keep a wide skill base and consider being selected for a Run /Jump/Throw. This also gives more competition opportunities when spaces are limited
  • Under 15
  • Sch year 8+9
  • Athletes are allowed to take part in 3 events + 4 x 100m Relay.
  • Choose 3 from:
    • Throw: Discus; Shot; Javelin
    • Sprint:75mHurdles for girls; 80mH for boys; 100m; 200m; 300m
    • Run: 800m; 1500m
    • Jump: Long Jump; High Jump

  • Sch year 10+11
  • Athletes are allowed to take part in 3 events + 4 x 100m Relay.

Hampshire Sportshall League

  • The Sportshall League began in 2001.
  • Four separate team competitions are held for girls and boys in the Under 11 and Under 13 age groups. 'Grand Prix' competitions are held for Under 15 girls and Under 15 boys.

Hampshire Cross-Country League

  • Cross-country. Agegroups: U13, U15, U17, U20.
  • The Hampshire Cross Country League season runs from October to February and comprises five races in Hampshire and neighbouring counties.
  • Four separate team competitions are held for girls and boys in the Under 11 and Under 13 age groups. 'Grand Prix' competitions are held for Under 15 girls and Under 15 boys.

Wessex Cross-Country League

  • Cross-country. Agegroups: U13, U15, U17, U20.
  • The Wessex Cross Country League is an inter-club league supported by Team Dorset whose aim is to provide competition between its member clubs and to promote Cross Country running in general.

County Cross-Country

  • County level cross country for athletes who were born or reside in the relevant county.
  • Please note that athletes must not enter more than one county championship, even if they qualify for two.
  • For example, if born in Hampshire but reside in Wiltshire then the athelete can enter either Hampshire or Wiltshire Championship but not both.
